Obituary of Sharon Reed

West Seneca- Sharon Ann Reed, formerly of Olean, passed away Tuesday (July 1, 2025) at the Garden Gate Health Care Facility after a brief illness. Born July 18, 1952, in Salamanca, she was the daughter of Russell and Doris Booth Reed. Sharon attended Prospect Elementary and Salamanca High School. She worked for many years as an assembler at SubCon Industries. Sharon was an artist and enjoyed coloring hundreds of pictures, and would give them to people. She will by all for missed for her kind, gentle, and generous personality. This was often reflected through her volunteer work with the SPCA, Library, Children's Reading Program, and Catholic Charities. She was an active participant in the Special Olympics for many years and medaled in softball and volleyball. She would also enjoy bowling, walking, and hiking. Sharon loved to travel, especially to Lake George, Air Force Museum, Civil War sites, Washington D.C, New York City, Canada, Maine, Myrtle Beach, and Florida, going to Disney with her sister and brother-in-law. She enjoyed having picnics and trying new restaurants. She is survived by her sister, Kara (Reed) Moran of West Seneca, brother-in-law Timothy Moran of West Seneca, Cousins Carol Johnston of Salamanca, Dan Weatherly of Overland Park, KS, Nancy Kayes of Villages, FL, and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Valerie Reed Edwards of Salamanca. Friends are invited to attend a memorial graveside on Saturday (July 12, 2024) at 11 am at the Crawford Cemetery, 4134 Center St Ext, in Salamanca.
