Donald H. “Butch” Kelly
Hinsdale, NY Donald H. “Butch” Kelly, 83, of Hinsdale, passed away Saturday (June 21, 2025) at Erie County Medical Center after being treated for a recent illness. His family was at his side providing love and comfort.
Born March 6, 1942 in Chaffee, he was the son of Daniel and Anna Luzier Kelly, Sr. On April 22, 1966 at the Hinsdale United Methodist Church he married Marlene, the love of his life.
Butch was a graduate of Olean High School. He joined the US Army where he served both active duty and in the Army Reserves from 1962 to 1968. He first worked for the former St. Francis Hospital and then worked as a welder at Dresser Clark for 30 years until his retirement in 2004.
He was a member of the Allegany American Legion and was a longtime Buffalo Bills fan. He also was instrumental in starting the Little League in Hinsdale.
He leaves behind his wife Marlene; 3 daughters, Kristina (Joseph) Vavrecan of W. Seneca, Katelynn (Mark) Corcoran of Portville, and Alyssa (Dylon Brown) Kelly of Fillmore; 9 grandchildren, Noah, Zachery, Joshua, Joseph, Ashley, Carter, Fynnleigh, Natalie, and Gavin; a great granddaughter, Harper; a great grandson, Jayden; 1 sister Linda Schlosser of Allegany, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Daniel Kelly, Jr., and 4 sisters, Patricia Johnson, Dorothy Lemmer, Betty Fusiara, and Anna Figuierodo.
The family will welcome friends for visitation on Tuesday (June 24, 2025) from 2-5pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A funeral service will begin at 5pm in the funeral home. Rev. Dave Fisher will officiate.
