Obituary of Anne M. Pittman

Anne Marie Pittman Allegany, NY Anne Marie Pittman passed away peacefully on March 19th, 2025 at The Absolute Care of Allegany. Born January 28, 1938 in Allegany, she was the daughter of Bernard and Katherine Driscoll Karl She graduated from Allegany Central School and later from Brockport College, earning her degree in Education. On July 2, 1960 she married Thomas Pittman, who predeceased her on March 29, 1998. Anne and Tom lived in Painesville, Ohio where she began her teaching career. In 1984, they moved back to Allegany where she began teaching as an elementary teacher at Hinsdale Central School, retiring many years later. Anne enjoyed socializing with her friends, spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren who called her GG, spending time on her computer, and playing games of chance. Whether she was truly your aunt or not, everyone knew her as “Aunt Anne.” She is survived by a granddaughter Jillion Pittman, and three great grandchildren, Hunter, Hayleigha, and Heath, all of whom meant the world to her. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and dear friends. Besides her husband Tom, Anne was predeceased by a sister, Katherine (Thomas) Schuman, a brother David (Audrey) Karl, a son Joseph Pittman, and many brothers and sisters-in-law. The family will hold a private burial ceremony for Anne where she will be laid to rest next to Tom in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
