I'm so very sorry to hear about Professor Premo's passing.
When people ask me about college, I tell them I went to Bonas, majored in acounting and "minored in Premo".I took every class I could with him, and anyone who knew him knew you didn't take a class with him for an easy grade. He always demanded that we put the work in, and it paid dividends, certainly for me in my career. He personally got involved with helping me get two accounting internships in my senior year, and then helped me land my first job after graduation. There is no doubt, without his assistance and persistence, my career would have gone in a different direction. A few years later he called me, and the cycle continued as he began sending me Bona interns over the years.
A classic Prof Premo story. My last class with him was a six-week accelerated class for senior accounting majors who were returning from internships before graduation. There was about six or seven of us in the class, all "Premo lifers." After the first class, he assigned lots of homework (a Premo staple). The next class many of us (myself included) came unprepared, thinking we were coasting to graduation. He not so gently reminded us, that it didn't matter how many classes we had previously taken with him, we still had to pass THIS class to graduate!! :)
My condolences and prayers to the family. He will be remembered and missed!

Maureen and Kathleen, Please accept my most sincere condolences. "Prof" Premo was critical in getting my career started with graduation from St Bonaventure. Not only is he a great man he has a fantastic family. Thank you for taking in my daughter while she attended St Bonaventure. Thank you for attending her wedding on the beach. My sadness is only mitigated by the graciousness of your family. Jay Murphy, BBA Accounting, 1972

My sincere condolences to the Premo family. I graduated from St. Bonaventure in 1977 and Prof Premo was my advisor as an accounting major and I took every accounting class he taught. If it wasn’t for him I don’t believe I would have graduated. He heed me in so many ways, advising not only on classes but on life decisions. He was a truly gifted teacher and a great advisor. I have thought of him many times over the years and when making professional decisions would always ask myself what would Prof Premo do. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten by this student.

Pat was my Advanced Accounting Professor in 1971-72 and one of the best educators I had at SBU. He helped me obtain an internship that led to a 30 year career at Pwc. We remained in contact for many years before his retirement. I will always be grateful for the impact he had on my personal and professional life. Sincere condolences to Kathy and the family. Pat and the entire family are in our prayers. Truly a thoughtful and gentle man. RIP

I met Professor Premo during my first weeks on campus. He was a wonderful advisor and mentor throughout my four years and early career. Throughout my life, I tried to emulate Pat Premo’s caring advocacy for internships to launch students’ careers. He was the first and the best. My sincere condolences to your family. Please know that your dad and grandfather had an enormously positive impact on thousands of students over many years. May God hold you and him in the palm of his hand.

I never had Professor Premo as I was a journalism major -- I stayed away from numbers. But he was legendary nonetheless. Many of my fellow classmates were mentored and benefitted from his presence at SBU. Prayers to his family
