Obituary of DeForest C Wilber

Hinsdale, New York         DeForest C. “Fuzzy” Wilber, of Hinsdale, passed away Saturday (November 17, 2018) at the Olean General Hospital.

 

 Born November 4, 1929 in Allegany he was the son of Gerald and Clara Button Wilber.

 

Fuzzy worked many years at the Eaton Dairy Farm. In his free time, he was a lifelong farmer and was devoted to taking caring care of all animals. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids.

 

Surviving are his lifelong companion Rosemarie Matteson; 5 children Donna Miller, Luan (Leonard) Woodruff, Donald Matteson Jr., Martin Matteson, Debra (Russ) Wilber and Dorene Herrick; several grandchildren and 2 nephews Russ Wilber and Virgil Wilber.

 

He was predeceased by a son in law Claude Miller; 3 brothers Myron “Sam” Wilber, Elmer Wilber, Enoch Wilber and 4 sisters Nina Weatherly, Elsie Crawford, Sadie Donavan and Ruthie Wilber.   

 

Family and Friends will be received on Tuesday (November 20, 2018) from 11am to 1pm at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1pm in the funeral home.

 

Memorials if desired may be made to the SPCA, P.O BOX 375, Olean, NY 14760.
