Victor A. Conroy Harrisburg, Pa.-- Victor A. Conroy, formerly of Okeechobee, Florida and Eldred, Pa. died Sunday (May 11, 2003) in Grayson View Nursing Home in Harrisburg. Born October 25, 1904 in Lancaster, PA he was a son of William and Mary Scheibly Conroy. On November 21, 1927 in East Aurora, NY he married the former Anna M. Goodsell who predeceased him November 1, 1989. Mr. Conroy attended school in Olean and formerly served in the National Guard. He and his wife moved to Florida in 1945 where he operated General Plumbing in West Palm Beach. Upon his retirement he moved back to Eldred, Pa. He was a former communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lake Park, FL. Surviving are 2 sisters Rita Agnew of Billings, Montana and Anna Leader of Cattaraugus, NY; a brother Leo Conroy of Missouri and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by 2 brothers William Conroy and James Conroy and a sister Mary Luh. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Saturday (May 17, 2003) from 10:00am until 11:00am at which time funeral services will be held. Rev. Richard Husted, pastor of St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice, 301 N. Union St. Middletown, Pa 17057.
