ROBERT E. SWEET MEMORIAL SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT FOR AUGUST 1, 2002 A memorial graveside service for Robert E. Sweet will be held Thursday (August 1, 2002) at noon in Pleasant Valley Cemetery located on the Hinsdale Highway (Rte 16N) in the town of Olean. Friends are invited to attend. POMPANO BEACH, FL - Robert E. Sweet died Sunday July 7, 2002 at his residence. Born in Olean on May 30, 1934 he was the son of Elmer D. and Mary E. Weitzel Sweet. Mr. Sweet was raised in Buffalo and moved to Los Angeles, CA where he lived for 20 years. While in California he was employed doing auto body repair. In 1981 he moved back to Buffalo where he owned and operated the "Appaloosa Post" second hand store. He later opened a second store on Allen Street in Buffalo. He held a special interest in Native American culture. He is survived by three sons Daniel R. Sweet of Amherst NY, Robert E. Sweet, Jr. and William E. Sweet both of California, two daughters Denise R. Sweet and Dana R. Sweet of Pompano Beach, Fl; a sister Joan Sweet of East Aurora, NY, 8 grandchildren an uncle Gerald Weitzel and an aunt, Toots Weitzel both of Olean. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean.
