JAMES D. BUMP "Loving husband and father" ALLEGANY - James D. Bump of the South Nine Mile Rd., died Thursday September 19, 2002 at his residence following a lengthy illness. Born in Olean on April 4, 1955 he was a son of Harold and Marie Hamm Bump. On September 14, 2002 he married Debbie Perkins who survives. Mr. Bump was formerly employed for the Castle, Inc. and later for E.F. Lippert where he worked for 20 years prior to retiring due to his health. He loved working on classic cars, especially Chevrolets. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother Marie Bump of Allegany; Daughters Jessica Bump of Olean and Jeanette Bump of Allegany; Step daughter Salyn Cummings of Allegany and a step grandchild Mellissa Johnston of Allegany; Three brothers Carl (Kathy) Bump of Conover, NC, David (Kathie) Bump of Cuba, NY and Paul (Candy) Bump of Buffalo, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Harold Bump in 1977. Friends will be received on Saturday (September 21, 2002) from 2-4 and 7-9 and on Sunday (September 22, 2002) from 1-4 PM at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean where funeral services will be conducted on Monday September 23, 2002 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Gerard leFeber, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, Allegany will officiate. Burial and committal will follow at Allegany Cemetery. Family and friends are cordially invited to the Bump residence, 4290 S. Nine Mile Road for a luncheon on Monday at 1:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Allegany Fire Department.
