Rosemary Garvin

Olean, NY     Rosemary Garvin of 410 E. State St. passed away Tuesday (March 20, 2018) in her home from an extended illness.  She was in the company of her loving family.

Born January 19, 1952 in Olean she was the daughter of James C. and Margaret F. Monihon Garvin.

Rosemary was a 1970 graduate of Olean High School and later a graduate of Olean Business Institute.  She first worked for St. Bonaventure University.  She then began a 30-year career as a clerk/examiner for the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles in Olean, retiring in 2007.  She began work again, this time as a teller at Community Bank until her second retirement.

She enjoyed being a Buffalo Bills fan and loved taking trips to Las Vegas, NV.  She also loved animals, especially her pet cat Maggie.

Surviving are a brother James (Marlene) Garvin of Olean; a sister Suzanne Garvin of Olean and a special longtime friend Mary McFadden of Olean.

She was predeceased by her parents and a brother Michael Garvin.

The family welcomes friends to a memorial visitation on Saturday (March 24, 2018) from 10am until noon at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd. Olean.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Homecare and Hospice, 1225 W. State St. Olean, NY 14760.  Online condolences may be expressed at oleanfuneralhome.com.
