Delmer L. Hart

Olean, NY     Delmer L. Hart, 87, of Olean passed away Wednesday (January 10, 2018) at Absolut Care of Allegany after a long illness.

Born May 17, 1930 in Green Cove, VA he was the son of William McKinley and Lillian Walls Hart.  On August 14, 1955 in Rainelle, W. VA he married Helen Gentry who survives.

Mr. Hart was a veteran of the US Marine Corps having served from 1948 to 1952 and achieved the rank of Colonel.

He had been employed as a design engineer for Clark Bros., later Dresser Rand Co. in Olean for many years until his retirement.  He was a member of the National Management Association, the National Rifle Association and he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 62 years are 3 brothers Charles Elmer "Charlie" Hart of Roanoke, VA, Clarence Norman (Norma) Hart of Verona, VA and James LeRoy (Lois) Hart of Fredericksburg, VA; 2 sisters Lillian Yvonne Tucker of Tampa, FL and Catherine Yvette (Harold) Wilburn of Beaver, W. VA and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation from 1-2pm on Monday (January 15, 2018) at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean.  Burial will be in Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Clintonville, W. VA.
